Blind Date with a Book #1
Last week,
Ebru from Ebs And Her Reads started a new weekly tradition: Blind Date With a
Book Thursday. Even though I didn’t guess the identity of the book she was describing – my fault for not having read enough novels set during World War II –
it was a lot of fun and I thought… why not?
So here’s my first Blind Date With a Book Thursday post!
The rules are simple:
You choose a book --> You write a few clues that will help people identify it --> You ask people to guess the title of the book, including the bloggers that have inspired you to join --> You later reveal the identity of the book
Ready? Here we go…

Ready? Here we go…
- I was published in 2015
- I was written by a female British writer
- I am set in England and Ireland but the States make a brief appearance too
- I have a dual narrative – I’m set partly just before England declares war on Germany in 1939 and partly in the 1970s
- I am about love – mostly. Some people put me in the ‘historical romance’ box
- Domestic violence is one of my themes
- Among my pages you find mean nuns in a convent, a little like in the film Philomena
Hmmmm... it's the nuns that are throwing off... I was thinking maybe "The Alice Network" but I'm not sure 🤔
ReplyDeleteNot the right guess, I'm afraid. On the plus side, that book is being added to my wish list!
