My impressions…

I am a firm advocate of books that not only entertain children but also teach them important lessons. Gorgeously illustrated by Sarah Long, this is one such book. To be honest, I didn’t know most of these conservationists so this is, first of all, a book I enjoyed myself.

The text is approachable but not simplistic, and the pages are full of highlights that explain the harder concepts or add interesting facts to the already fascinating profiles of these people we should all look up to. It is a great starting point for eye-opening conversations with children, which - as far as I’m concerned - it’s never too early to start having.

My eldest daughter is only three and half but she can now tell you what pollinators do and what coral bleaching is. And this is just the beginning!

Three words to describe it. Informative. Colourful. Inspiring.

Do I like the cover? I love it, like I love all the illustrations in this book.

Have I read any other books by the same author? No, but I will be checking them out.
