Mr Holmes in Sussex

I have recently watched Mr Holmes and I would sincerely recommend it if you enjoy smart and touching films.

Plus, the famous detective is played by the brilliant Sir Ian McKellen and the gorgeous locations include stunning views of the Sussex coastline.

 I must admit that I haven't read many of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books and I was therefore surprised to learn that East Dean, not far from where I live, is believed to be the retirement home of the great fictional character.

That’s why I surprised myself when I decided to read a novel whose front cover prominently displays a quote describing it as a ‘terrifying crime novel’.
