Blog tour: The Love of My Afterlife

Welcome to the blog tour for The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood!

More about the book…

If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie Bookham would be dying of embarrassment.

She’s woken up in the afterlife after choking on a microwave burger, wearing the kind of pyjamas you’d be mortified if anyone saw you in, and has crashed headlong into the most handsome man she’s ever met. Who is also dead and smiling at her.

As they talk, Delphie starts to feel that elusive spark between them – something she’s waited her whole life to feel. Perhaps the afterlife won’t be so bad if she’s potentially found her soulmate to spend it with… That is until someone comes running in, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth and leaving Delphie behind.

Now the powers that be are offering Delphie a deal: go back down to Earth, find her mysterious maybe soulmate, and get him to fall in love with her. Or stay dead. The challenge? She only has ten days to find him, and he has no recollection of them ever having met…

More about the author…

Kirsty Greenwood is an internationally bestselling author of funny, fearless romantic comedies about extraordinary love.

When she's not writing books, she composes musicals and explores London, where she lives with her husband.

My impressions…

Paranormal romance is not a genre I am often attracted to, but there was something in this book that instantly made me want to read it. Love at first sight, perhaps, the same feeling that our sweet main character, Delphie, has upon seeing a handsome stranger after chocking to death and reaching the afterlife. I mean, who wouldn’t be intrigued after reading such an opening?

Sadly, her handsome stranger is there by mistake and is sent back to the world of the living. What will she do without him now? Higher powers allow her to go back to Earth, try to find him and make him fall in love with her. Simple. Oh, and she only has ten days to do that. The race against time begins, and we’re in for a hell of a ride!

I can’t disclose how her quest ends, but I can promise you lots of laughter among more sombre moments. Plus, you’ll be in good company with Delphie and other great characters, like Merritt, her afterlife therapist, and her neighbours Cooper and Mr Yoon. You’ll feel like you’re among friends, and rightly so: this novel is as much as finding love as it is about human connection.

This is a warm and uplifting read that I heartily recommend!

Three words to describe it. Romantic. Quirky. Delightful.

Do I like the cover? Yes, it’s very pleasing to the eye!

Have I read any other books by the same author? I have not. Go figure!
