Blog tour: One Wrong Turn

Welcome to the blog tour for One Wrong Turn by C M Ewan!

More about the book…

Abi and Ben are driving home down foggy country roads, arguing about having had to cut short their weekend away when they take a wrong turn. Abi’s driving, but her eyes leave the road for a moment as she says something to Ben – just as he gasps. A man is in front of the car, waving a torch. Abi swerves to avoid him.

Ben tells her they should stop and go back, but Abi refuses. It’s dark, the roads are isolated and they don’t know this stranger. But, as Abi continues on, they see a broken-down car. Every instinct is still telling Abi to drive by, but then she notices the woman holding a car seat with a baby in it.

For a moment, Abi hesitates, but they can’t leave a mother and baby on the side of the road. Agreeing to give the family a lift, they set off again. But now these strangers are inside their car and it might be the worst mistake they have ever made ...

My impressions…

Wow, what a ride this novel is! I was hooked as soon as I read the synopsis but – this author being new to me – I couldn’t have predicted such a high level of intensity and suspense. I feel dizzy just thinking about it! This book kept me turning the pages as fast as I could, as most chapters ended on a jaw-dropping note.

This dual timeline novel is very well executed, making me come up with a lot of questions that – sure, were eventually answered – but made me conjecture about all sorts of possible scenarios before getting to the truth. The only question that was left to me to answer was: What would I do in this situation?

If you enjoy addictive psychological thrillers, you shouldn’t miss this one!

Three words to describe it. Unsettling. Addictive. Suspenseful.

Do I like the cover? Yes, it’s the right amount of anxiety-inducing!

Have I read any other books by the same author? No, but I’m super intrigued now!
