"Italy in Books" - Link for June reviews and prize draw

It’s June and the “Italy in Books” reading challenge 2011 continues!

This month, courtesy of Constable & Robinson, two of you will have the chance to win a copy of Roma by Steven Saylor.

To participate in the prize draw, all you have to do is:

• Read a book set in Italy or about Italian culture & language
• Share your review (or opinion, if it sounds less intimidating!) by clicking here

    I have been trying to remember which title it was but..... it will come back. I read it when I was still in Belgium and my sister had bought this book of a for me unknown author. I remember loving the fact I was home the whole day that period so I could go on reading it without stopping!
    I saw the book in the shop yesterday and held it for a second till it came back to me that I wasn't going to buy any book .... so I left a different shop with a book from 1933 instead.:-)

Why this challenge? This year I’ve decided to host a reading challenge because I think that they are a brilliant idea. They help to make reading a more collective experience and are a great way to find out more about any particular author / genre / topic and get to know about books you might never have come across. I chose this topic because - as an Italian who has been living abroad for many years now - I feel the need to learn more about my home country and I’m curious to see the difference between the way it is portrayed by native Italians and others. That’s why I surprised myself when I decided to read a novel whose front cover prominently displays a quote describing it as a ‘terrifying crime novel’.
