Blog tour: The Quiet People

Welcome to the blog tour for The Quiet People by Paul Cleave!

More about the book…

Cameron and Lisa Murdoch are successful New Zealand crime writers, happily married and topping bestseller lists worldwide. They have been on the promotional circuit for years, joking that no one knows how to get away with crime like they do. After all, they write about it for a living.

So when their challenging seven-year-old son Zach disappears, the police and the public naturally wonder if they have finally decided to prove what they have been saying all this time... Are they trying to show how they can commit the perfect crime?

Multi-award winning bestseller Paul Cleave returns with an electrifying and chilling thriller about family, public outrage and what a person might be capable of under pressure, that will keep you guessing until the final page...

My impressions…

Was it a page-turner? This is 100% a page-turner. Addictive and, as people say, unputdownable. I wished my toddler took longer naps so that I could keep reading!

Did the book meet my expectations? Yes, in general I would say that it did. I expected suspense, I expected to suspect of everyone and anyone… and I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have already gifted it to one of many friends who I’m sure we’ll be equally captivated. I must however say that, for my liking, there were perhaps too many plot twists. While I don’t expect thrillers to be believable – it is fiction after all! – I found that my head was spinning by the end of it.

Three words to describe it. Twisted. Dark. Gripping.

Do I like the cover? It’s not my favourite cover ever but it fits the book!

Have I read any other books by the same author? No, and I am mostly definitely tempted.
